UN Climate Change Conference 2009

In 2009, Denmark hosted the UN’s Fifteenth Conference of the Parties under the UN’s Climate Change Convention (COP15) from December 7-18. Hosting the COP allowed Denmark a unique opportunity to market Danish climate friendly technologies and know-how.

Marketing Green Know How

Denmark is a forerunner when it comes to production of clean technologies and renewable energy. Over the past 25 years, Denmark has shown that it is possible to create economic growth while at the same time reducing energy consumption and increasing the use of renewable energy.

Climate Consortium Denmark
Climate Consortium Denmark is a public-private partnership between the Danish state and five major business organizations. Climate Consortium Denmark’s efforts should not only help Danish companies increase their global business, but also increase Denmark’s attractiveness in relation to investment, new businesses, the work force and foreign students dedicated to studies in energy and climate issues.

Leading up to the COP15, the Climate Consortium worked to increase awareness of Danish businesses’ climate friendly products, technologies and competences. It is a priority of the Danish Government to demonstrate to the world community the Danish success in decoupling economic growth and energy consumption.
